We hit a milestone last season when we celebrated 20 seasons of playing in the Drakes Huddersfield League. As the Covid-19 lockdown got underway, one of the items to pass the time was inviting nominations via our social media channel for our greatest XI during this period.
During these years, Delph & Dobcross Cricket Club have been blessed with some fantastic cricketers playing at the club, and you could name an extremely strong XI from the players who didn’t quite make the cut. Players such as Wasim Qasim, Chris Laker, Carl Jump, Faisal Butt and Kyle Hogg and more all narrowly fell short in the voting amongst former players and supporters via Twitter.
We were left with an excellent spread of both professional and amateur cricketers with some big personalities on the pitch. Have a look below how the team looked at the end of the voting period.
