Broad Oak won the toss and elected to bat and it looked initially as if a big score was in the offing. Charlie Roebuck smashed 3 straight fours in the first over off Umer Yaqoob, however Yaqoob had sweet revenge in the next over when he got one through to Roebuck’s middle stump. Harvey Booth joined Dominic Finn and patiently they looked to build a solid base. They took the score to 61 when Booth misjudged a Muhammad Shakir delivery leaving a straight one and losing his off stump. This started a collapse, which saw Broad Oak lose 5 wickets for 3 runs to leave them 6 for 64, Shakir and Walter Kasim doing the damage. Wicket keeper Tom McCreadie and Alistair Finn took the score to 96 before McCreadie was caught behind off Kasim for 21. The innings then soon folded to leave Broad Oak on an under par score of 114 all out off 35 overs. Kasim finished with 5 for 31. Shakir 2 for 37 and spinner Xander Selby mopping up the tail with 2 for 2.
Delph opened up with Selby joining Nathan Jones for the second week and the two youngsters took the score to 45 when Jones holed out for 29 off 30 balls (5 4’s). Alex Peters, after crashing a 4, was then bowled by Broad Oak's overseas player Kyran Dill, following which Mosun Hussain joined Selby to take the score within 10 runs of victory. Hussain then uncharacteristically lofted a simple catch to Alistair Finn to leave skipper Louis Aspeling to edge 2 4’s to take Delph over the line. Selby also remained unbeaten to finish with a patient 20 off 57 balls.
