The toss was won by Delph, who opted to bat on a fine sunny day. After a solid start Nathan Jones, for the 2nd week running was run out, for 20, with the score on 29. New recruit Alex Peters soon settled in and with Mosun Hussain added 101 for the second wicket. Peters on reaching his 50 (7 4’s and a 6) was immediately caught at long off by Josh Brook. Delph's newly arrived overseas player Rehan Afridi soon followed, caught in the deep, to leave Delph on 134 for 3. Another new recruit Adam Hayes joined Hussain to take the score to 199. Hayes was then bowled for 39 and this was followed by a succession of wickets to put Delph on the back foot. Within 3 overs the innings slipped to 212 for 7, including the wicket of Mosun Hussain for 86 (7 4’s and 4 6’s) who was dismissed by a juggling catch by Tom Brook on the boundary edge. Pick of the Scholes bowlers was Louis Brook who took a fine 5 for 36 of his 15 overs.

Delph soon made inroads with both openers being dismissed in the first 3 overs leaving Scholes on 12 for 2. Yorkshire’s Benji Birkhead then joined forces with Yaarsar Imtiaz and the pair took the score to 75, when Xander Selby induced an edge from Imtiaz (20) with Hussain snaffling the catch at slip. Tom Brook then joined Birkhead to take the score to 115 before Muhammad Shakir bowled Birkhead around his legs for a well made 52 (9 4's). Tom Brook then took control of the innings to produce a match winning innings. The match was evenly balanced and despite losing wickets regularly Brook kept Scholes on target. He finished on 77 not out (9 4’s and 1 6) with the total reached with only 7 balls to spare. Opening bowlers Shakir and Umer Yaqoob took 3 for 60 and 4 for 55 respectively, but Delph were not helped by conceding 55 extras.
