Mosun, Adnan & Demari Bid Farewell

Mosun, Adnan & Demari Bid Farewell

16 Apr 2024

It is with a mix of gratitude and sadness that we bid farewell to three remarkable players, Long-serving opening batsman Mosun Hussain, wicketkeeper Demari Prince and strike bowler Adnan Ghani, as they embark on new cricketing paths.

Mosun Hussain needs little introduction having spearheaded the batting department since joining as a young prodigy 2017. In his seven seasons at the club he has grown to become one of the league’s most dangerous batsmen. He has been a consistent operator, scoring over 6,500 runs with a top score of 134 coming against Emley Clarence in his debut season. Mosun claimed 16 centuries and 38 half centuries during a decorated career where he helped us win a Sykes Cup final in 2018 and two T20 Trophy wins. Mosun has joined Jer Lane in the Bradford ECB Premier League

Demari Prince, in his debut season with us last year, showcased his talent with both bat and gloves. Scoring an impressive 573 runs and claiming 33 victims behind the stumps, his impact was felt throughout the season. Memorable moments included his top score of 74 runs away at Shelley in May, along with two fifties in total. Demari has taken an opportunity up in the Netherlands and will also link up with his old club in the midlands, Handsworth CC.

Adnan Ghani, a familiar face in our bowling lineup for two seasons (2022 and 2023), leaves us to join Thongsbridge. Despite facing challenges with an elbow injury last season, Adnan's resilience shone through as he still took 38 wickets, adding to the phenomenal 81 wickets he secured in 2022, and was a constant threat when fit to bowl.

Known for his searing spells of bowling, Adnan picked up four 5+ wicket hauls during his time with us. Beyond his bowling talent, Adnan's hard-hitting lower-order batting style provided some memorable thrilling moments. It's not just his cricketing skills; Adnan's warm and friendly personality made him a beloved figure around our club and whilst we’re sorry to see him leave, we look forward to seeing him again. Adnan will head up the bowling at Championship outfit, Thongsbridge.

As they move on to new adventures, we extend our thanks to Mosun, Demari and Adnan for their contributions to Delph & Dobcross CC. We wish them all the best for the future.
