Rizwan Retained For 2022

Rizwan Retained For 2022

9 Feb 2022

The second part to our 1XI opening bowling attack was finalised after Rizwan Ali agreed to his second season at the club after joining in 2021. Riz will partner up with Adnan Ghani following the announcement of the former Hoylandswaine pace bowler last week.

Rizwan joined the club four matches into the start of last season after spells with Townville and East Brierley in the Bradford Premier League. The softly-spoken all-rounder showed plenty of raw potential, despite not being at full fitness, after he joined following an extended period in Pakistan during the pandemic. Nevertheless he took 39 wickets with his best performance coming against Broad Oak in the T20 with 3-22. He was no slouch with the bat too and his best return was a superb 65 at home to Honley in the league.

With a solid winter of training under his belt we’re looking forward to seeing seam-bowler Rizwan again in 2022.
